Our commercial solution transforms routine goaf gas-drainage data into a powerful risk-management tool for underground coal operations. Building on the outcomes of the project, we apply calibrated CFD models and parametric analysis to convert borehole flow rate, suction pressure and gas composition data into real-time indicators of spontaneous combustion and gas-explosion risk. The technology enables mine operators to visualise oxygen ingress pathways, identify high-risk explosive gas zones, and optimise borehole layout, completion depth and suction pressure to balance gas capture efficiency against fire and explosion hazards. By integrating monitoring data with physics-based modelling, our platform provides site-specific decision support to improve safety, reduce downtime from gas exceedances, and support more sustainable and cost-effective gas management.
